Yes We DID!

I am PROUD!

I'm proud to be a fucking American today! And I must say, it has been a long time since I said that.

Barack Obama is going to be one of the greatest president's of our time.

I wish I could personally thank Barack Obama for having the courage to run, and for everyone that also voted for him, be proud too because you just made history possible, and with this election many barriers in our society will be broken down, which will only result in good things for the future.

For all the people that voted for McCain, I can only say I'm sorry. McCain made a graceful and classy concession speech, declaring "Barack Obama is no longer my opponent but now my President, and I will honor that because I am an American and I believe in this country." I only hope that his supporters follow their candidates' lead. (Although, I believe many of you who did vote for Mccain did so out of fear: fear of terrorists, fear of losing money, (which WONT happen, but is something I think is completely based on human selfishness and disgusts me,) and fear of a black guy in office. I hope you don't continue to live in fear, because it inspires you to act like a jackass. You can't go through life being afraid you might step on a crack, because if you did you'd never move and be standing still forever.

Movie Review: "Blindness", 2008

Okay, this is a movie review for the film Blindness, with Julianne Moore as the lead female. It is going to spoil the movie for you if you haven't seen it, so you may want to skip it if you plan to. Pretty much, this is a movie about a weird disease of some kind making everyone blind. Everyone goes blind except Julianne Moore. They get taken to a quarantine zone, and Julianne Moore tells them she is blind so she can stay with her husband, but she isn't blind she can see, so it gives her a great advantage over the blind folk, and also makes them very dependent on her.

She does her best to preserve order and care for everyone but the quarantine that they are in eventually falls into disrepair; the government has assured them someone is coming to take them somewhere eventually, but nobody ever does and when one or two people have tried to leave, they were shot, so everyone just stays put. This is the first thing that irks me. Nobody tries to do anything, Julianne Moore just continues to wipe everyone's asses for them instead of figuring out what the fuck is going on when she is really the only one that can.

Anyway eventually the wards begin warring, and one ward is hoarding the food and collecting valuables from the others in exchange for food. After a week, once they've collected all the valuables, they ask for women. This is an interesting thing to note; these blind people ask for valuables, like jewelry and money, like WTF are they going to do with valuables?! From a psychological point of view, it was probably just a test to get these people to give things of value to them up so that they could then ask for something even worse; like a woman's dignity. She may not have been willing to do something like that at first, but after being worn down by giving up everything else, she may then feel pressured to do so. So then there's a whole dirty orgy scene, and I mean dirty- for one, let me note, the movie is visually dissatisfying in every single way- almost as if to say, since the movie is called BLINDNESS, we're going to make it almost impossible to follow what the fuck is going on in the movie by having it be blurry and unfocused and jittery at times, and at times we will even just have total darkness or total whiteness blinding the screen. This thematic ingenuity playing off the name of the movie did not impress me. So that's the first reason the orgy scene was dirty. The second is because at this point, they had been in the quarantine for quite a while, and it really just looks gross, and many of them appear very unclean and nasty looking. So all in all, it wasn't sexy. Even Julianne Moore, who CAN see, still goes through with the orgy. Why did these women decide to do this? Like, a bunch of BLIND PEOPLE are DEMANDING shit, and sh can see, but she doesn't try to stop it? Hell, I would just sneak in there at night and kill them all.

Also, at various points in the film it does flicker to a pair of scissors and then to her, like she is thinking about doing something. After this happens a few times she finally DOES take them, goes into the other ward and kills a guy. But instead of doing it quickly and quietly she makes a big-ass scene and causes all kinds of hell. She doesn't even ATTEMPT to take the gun away from them, the one thing they used to threaten the other wards into cooperating. So, let's continue. Finally Julianne Moore sets fire to the ward and leads mostly the good ones out. They wander through the city and one by one the blind people get lost like dumb asses until there are only a few left. To sum it up, Julianne Moore saves them all in a very slow way, and at the very, very end the guy who first became blind suddenly can see again, indicating that perhaps it was temporary and the rest will recover as well.

So that sums up the storyline. Some other things I'd like to make note of, is that the movie was very slow, and the ending really lets you down. Somewhere along the line, I would have liked to know why this blindness suddenly hit like it did, and why it suddenly went away, and why the fuck Julianne Moore's character did not get it when it looks like everyone else did. I mean, if someone knew she could still see they would have tested her to try to figure out why, and instead of the whole world dying maybe she had an antibody or some shit. It just doesn't make alot of sense. Also, there is so much more Julianne Moore could have done in that ward, like killing the bad guys. But she DOESN'T! She doesn't help them escape until the very end! She is even seen standing outside in the courtyard with no guards around and still does not choose to leave. This makes me think, in a totally absurd analyzation of her psyche, maybe in her life before this blindness thing came along she was not really necessary, and the sudden dependence these other people have on her, along with her mother hen role, made her feel important, so instead of doing something to stop it she just prolonged it until she could no longer. But like I said, that's total speculation. Also, Sam Jackson himself was in this film! But his part was extremely small and crappy, and I was disappointed in that. There were also alot of weird scenes that were meant to inspire a sense of maybe faith, in mankind, I'm not sure, but people would be like, dancing together in the rain and shit and slow chords would play. It was supposed to be meaningful, but in reality it was just boring.

It was good for the first hour and a half, just the last thirty minutes was really disappointing.

Creepy Bird - A Servant of the Devil?

Dude this video is freaky! This bird sounds nuts. I guess it's a species called a starling, and I guess it's not unusual for them to mimic sounds around them. Maybe it's not evil, maybe the people who own it are!

Dire Misconceptions About the World

It is my belief that it is a general misconception of the American psyche that waging war is a just, brave cause and disarming is a cowardly one.

How did we ever get to a point where we are happy to be declared killers?

Why is reaching out with diplomacy and wanting peace a bad thing?

What the fuck is wrong with us.

McDonald's Monopoly

I got this monopoly piece called Arches Avenue. It has a $100,000 prize. I thought it would be worth posting about because if anyone else has the other piece needed -#271- that is certainly worth getting a lawyer involved to split the money fairly and claim the prize. However, I did a google search to see what the matching piece was, or to see if anyone had it on ebay or anything. Annnd, what I found was this: almost everyone in the country has a Arches Avenue, and almost everyone is looking for it's elusive mate, #271, Golden Avenue. Since the prize hasn't been claimed yet, I don't think anyone has it. But chances are, someone probably found it, didn't give a shit and threw it away, and they probably only made one!

I Fucking Hate Mondays

I worked in a TGIF'S once like this. And yes, I did get fired. And yes, it is a very interesting story.

di.fm

I put a "gadget" on here that links to di.fm digital radio. Hit one of the buttons to specify a media player and it will allow you to listen to music on my blog while you read! It's directly below the "Moon of the Day" photo.

Idle Chat

This is just a conversation I had with someone in chat one day. It is edited for the names and maybe for typos and that's all. The guy couldn't come up with any real answers once we took God away. It was an interesting interchange, and that is why I was compelled to post it.

--------------
a)hey

b>hi there
b>oh no dont get grounded!

a)grounded?
a)oh, in trouble?

b>yes

a)oh well
a)just wanted to know if you were doing ok in math

b>i dunno, we'll see after this next test
b>i think its on monday not sure

a)tell me how you did
a)or what you had trouble with
a)just drop me a message

b>have a good night

a)vote McCain if you value your country

b>no way dude
b>obama
b>we need change

a)be careful what you ask for
a)change to socialism is still a change, but not good

b>why is it socialism?
b>what exactly is socialist about his policies?
b>thats such a huge misconception
b>you watch too much fox news

a)take your wealth and distribute it to others, which he came out and said

b>no that isn't what he said

a)nah, heard it from his own lips

b>thats what mccain SAID he said
b>no he did not!

a)no, it was from his lips

b>show me
b>thats ridiculous

a)I heard the audio

b>in that commercial he aired the other night he even said, no, this isnt about taking your b>paycheck and giving it to someone else
b>he said its about giving tax breaks to the middle class and companies that can use it
b>not to wealthy corporations and people who already have money
b>i dont see anything wrong with that

a)who are the ones that create the jobs?
a)the rich or the poor?

b>mccains policies are built to keep the wealthiest 1% of the country wealthy, and unless your in b>that 1 percent it doesnt apply to you, so why does everyone think his plans are so great?

a)if you tax a company, they have less money to pay in salary

b>they (mccains policies) wont apply to you... unless you make like over 500 grand a year
b>he didn't say anything about taxing companies
b>he wants to give tax credits to businesses that deserve and need it
b>like small businesses and businesses that have workers in the USA

a)oh, I thought you just said no tax breaks...misread you
a)chat debates are tough

b>but a huge ass company like an oil company thats making record profits while we're paying 5$ b>a gallon?
b>nah they dont need any tax breaks fuck that
b>what is socialism? im going to define it

a)if the gov't cut the federal excise tax, gas would be less
a)I would like that tax break

b>1. a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

b>2. procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.

b>3. (in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

a)my, what a great vocabulary you have
a)oh wait, Red Riding Hood said that

b>so, what do you call it when the govt gives 800 billion to banks to bail them out? isnt that kind b>of like wealth redistribution? cuz really, its taking the taxes of our nation and GIVING IT b>AWAY to banks
b>isnt that kind of similar to socialism?

a)I disagree with the bailout
a)I think it was a knee jerk reaction

b>they knew what they were doing

a)I do, however, disagree also with

b>they were like, fuck mccain might lose, we better get one more big ass govt bailout through b>before the election

a)a guy who is pro abortion
a)severely anti-gun

b>whose pro abortion?
b>nobody is pro abortion

a)will not defend america
a)your candidate

b>i dont think theres a person on earth that is pro abortion

a)lol

b>there is a difference between pro choice and pro abortion

a)not really
a)you'd be surprised

b>pro choice simply says a woman and nobody else should be able to decide what to do with her b>life
b>pro abortion means you are in favor of killing babies, and i dont think anyone really is

a)the point is, obama will not protect the unborn

b>he shouldnt!
b>its not his place to!
b>its the womans choice!

a)he said he would not want his daughters "punished" with a baby if she made a mistake

b>so i bet you say yuo think government intervention should be lessened, right? overall, keeping the government from putting up too much red tape and stepping on peoples toes right?

a)thats exactly right
a)yes

b>you think its healthy for a young girl to be forced to have a baby?
b>one that she cannot take care of, and if she does have, may end up resenting and neglecting?
b>forced? thats not the govt intervening in a citizens personal choice?

a) it's called responsibility

b>only for that child to grow up fucked up?

a)there are many waiting to adopt
a)it's still comes down to killing

b>yeah and in a perfect world alot of young people dont and cannot take on that responsibility
b>they should not be asked to or forced to
b>or guilted into doing it

a)there are better ways

b>or coerced

a)that what abstinence is about
a)did I spell that right?

b>did you know alot of babies and children that are adopted are victims of abuse?
b>yeah abstinence is unrealistic
b>abstinence is about as real as pink unicorns
b>look at the world around you

a)not really
a)it is a goal

b>we are raised in a society of sex, so why are we surprised when young kids start having sex?

a)I can't disagree with you on that

b>we should be educating them

a)on why not to do it before marriage

b>on how to be safe and on how to not get pregnant
b>so they can safely experiment
b>and not get hurt
b>because they are going to do it anyway
b>i'd rather have them be smart about it than be dumb

a)the abuse argument is a red herring also....abuse happens in families with or without adoption
a)adopted children are also loved greatly

b>and by educating them, hell look at that, abortions dropped because young kids were smart b>enough to use protection and birth control

a)got you riled up, didn't I?

b>to tell them not to do it until mairrage is just unrealistic; it doesnt work statistically and wont b>work in our society ever
b>these are issues i feel strongly about, yes

a)that is a sad conclusion about our society

b>but just because its sad doesnt mean its not reality

a)but I can still like you even if I disagree
a)and a reality that is worth changing

b>its reality so instead of trying to think of a way to prevent it we should embrace it, educate, b>and do our best to prevent these things

a)noo, change it for the better
a)I'd love to talk all night, but I have to go cling to my guns in the morning at the range

b>as long as people believe in abstinence, young kids will get amorous and mistakes will happen

a)my goal is to reduce abortions
a)deep breath

b>so dont you think it would be best to do so by telling kids how to prevent them in the first b>place?
b>with educating them and teaching them how to protect themselves?
b>because by telling them not to have sex, it will never work

a)I think it best to tell them the reasons to not have sex before marriage first, while at the same time educating them on how to think properly about it
a)never? but it has many times

b>what reasons are there to not have sex before mairrage?
b>because why?

a)you have to ask that?

b>because god said so?
b>yes, i really do

a)that is the first one

b>theres where your argument fails
b>take the god equation out of it

a)lol

b>and you are left with nothing

a)that is not possible

b>but i just did it

a)no, that is not true

b>okay, another reason
b>why cant or shouldnt people have sex? before marriage...

a)the fool says in his heart there is no god

b>sex is an enjoyable acitivty that people should enjoy
b>why?
b>why does it have to be before mairrage

a)yes, in the framework of a marriage

b>nonsense; its religious rhetoric, thats the only reason, take out the religion and there's no b>reason for it

a)sex is more than a physical act of the senses
a)not at all

b>sex can be both
b>it can be just physical, and it can be emotional

a)oh, don't read me wrong...I love it, too

b>sex is alot of things, but why is it not okay to know this before mairrage?

a)those are different conditions now
a)sex forms a bond, at least if used in the right context

b>in all actuality, people with a wide range of sexual variety probably have an entire different b>view of sex than people who have been with each other since mairrage and no one else

a)otherwise it is selfish lust

b>whats wrong with that?
b>thats part of sex

a)selfish lust? everything

b>oh wait, its a religious thing right?

a)not really
a)lol
a)I don't have to be selfish to give my wife great sex

b>so wait, your saying i cant be emotionally connected to someone im having sex with unless im b>married?
b>but have you ever had selfish lustful sex?

a)no, that's not what I said
a)yes, before I knew better

b>its pleasurable to, just as pleasurable as emotional sex that expresses love

a)no doubt

b>so whats wrong with that

a)but not enduring

b>sex is many things, it doesnt mean its bad

a)selfishness is not loving
a)I don't think sex itself is bad

b>so you cant be selfish and loving at the same time?
b>you cant love your wife but really just wanna fuck her brains out even if you know she isnt all b>that into it?

a)selfishness and loving are opposite thoughts

b>i disagree

a)oh yes, I can do that

b>and thats why sex is such a beautiful thing
b>then you are contradicting yourself
b>how can you do that, if being selfish is not loving?

a)because in our marriage, we come together and give each other what we want....that came out clumsy

b>im sorry to be a pest

a)lol
a)you're not!

b>so i couldnt do the same thing with someone im not married to?

a)I can handle a hot discussion
a)before I answer that, there are assumptions behind that idea that need to be explored

b>so somehow mairrage allows me to experience sex in a way i couldn't otherwise experience it? b>meh, i disagree

a)and oh how I would love to, but I didn't mean for this to go on so long

b>ok, sure no prob

a)it's not the marriage, but the loving long term commitment
a)I'm trying to get at something deeper

b>but wait, cant i have that without mairrage?

a)but anyway

b>why do i have to be married to have that?

a)there is something about that I am at a loss to explain right now

b>i've been in a loving long term relationship before, and i've been in short relationships as well
b>haha, ok.

a)sorry

b>not a problem

a)chat debates are not easy
a)oh no, I chatted with another beautiful woman about sex!

b>uh oh
b>i dont think it would be any easier if it werent in chat
b>well go then before you get in trouble

a)it is, cause voice inflections come in, along with tone of voice

b>and how would any of that have answered the questions i put to you?

a)any discussion is easier to understand in person
a)not answered, but helped me understand your emotions/expressions/etc

b>i could go on forever too.

a)me too
a)but, alas, I cannot
a)but I do thank you for the discussion

b>np

a)hugs
a)still, let me know about your math

b>ok, sure
b>im sure ill seeya around again

a)leave me a message...it's easier
a)well, gtg

b>nite

a)later sweetie
